Made a Federal Holiday in 1894 by Grover Cleveland after the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the U.S. military and U.S. Marshals during the Pullman Strike, it is appropriatethat the nation pay tribute on Labor Day to the creator of so much of the nation’s strength, freedom, and leadership — the American worker. Their contibutions have helped our Nation acheive the the highest standard of living and the greatest production the world has ever known!
