Congratulations to Jose Salmeron, our Installation of the week winner for the week of March 16th. Jose installed a variable speed York furnace at the Fergusen residence in Kirkland, WA. Our insulation crew also stripped, sealed, and re-insulated the exposed ductwork in the home, provided the homeowner with a heating system that will provide optimal efficiency and comfort, throughout their home.

The original furnace in the home was 16 years old, and was working intermittently due to a host of problems. The original ductwork was also never sealed, and had substantial leaks, resulting in poor air distribution through the home, and a significant loss in furnace efficiency (with a lot of heat being lost in the crawl-space).

Old furnace

The homeowner chose to install a variable speed York furnace, which features a high-efficiency blower motor that not only saves energy, but will also continuously circulate air to improve comfort throughout the entire home. An in-line surge arrestor and new filter rack were also installed to help prevent equipment failures, and to make maintenance easier. Finally, the exposed ductwork was stripped of its insulation, sealed using a reinforced mastic, and was reinsulated with new insulation that is free of phenol, formaldehyde, acrylics or artificial colors. This system will now provide years of improved comfort and energy efficiency for the Fergusen’s.
