Recycling & Reclaiming
We want to ensure that the old, inefficient products we remove from your home do not end up in a landfill. All materials from furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and plumbing we replace are sent to local recycling centers to be reused in new products:
- Steel
- Aluminum
- Copper
- Refrigerant oil
- Cardboard
We also make sure that old mercury thermostats are safely processed, and the hazardous materials they contain are disposed of properly. And when we need to remove refrigerant from an air conditioning system, it’s safely captured so that it doesn’t escape into the atmosphere.
Fleet Management
Reducing fuel consumption is a priority for us. In the future, we’re looking toward new technologies to help reduce our fuel use while we lower carbon emissions. Today, we work hard to purchase the most fuel-efficient vehicles available that will meet our needs.
While vehicles are in our fleet, we maximize their fuel efficiency through:
- Regular oil changes
- Tune-ups
- Proper tire inflation
We route all of our vehicles to minimize the miles we drive every year, while still enabling us to meet the needs of our customers. We even monitor our vehicles’ speeds through GPS systems to maximize mileage!
Facilities
In designing our offices, we took many measures to reduce energy consumption and waste. Naturally, we started with the heating and cooling systems by installing the most efficient choices. Beyond this, all of our lighting use either high-efficiency fluorescent fixtures or compact fluorescent bulbs. Exterior glass is coated to conserve energy and reduce summer air conditioning demand. We added foam insulation in the ceiling to further reduce energy loss. We even installed low-flow toilets to conserve water.
